About me
Dr. Carley Dear is the Director of Academic Technology and Innovation for the School of Nursing at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. With experiences from teaching K12, at a community college, and in doctoral-level classes, Dear has a passion for face-to-face and online education. As a former director of offices of institutional research/effectiveness and assessment for a large, multi-campus community college and an academic medical center, Dear has experience in data visualization, data storytelling, and data-informed decision-making practices, which impacts her use of data to drive continuous quality improvement in the classroom. After transitioning from higher education administration roles related to accreditation compliance, Dear is back in classrooms—and loving it! Strategies and tools to incorporate engaging activities in face-to-face and online learning environments that help promote substantive interaction between students, faculty, and content.
